FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY THREE
(I/C)
Bending down to sniff the water in the bath, Wyn began filling up his skin back to the top. Lyra went to wash her hands in the tub and the elf shook his head no. “Wait si vous plait. Drink and fill fist.”
The party all took turns filling their skins until once finished, Wyn stripped off his clothes and using his soap, began cleaning himself. “I don't know bout de rest of ye, but Wyn's gonna wash de undead stink off ov 'im before we get movin' today.” He looked around. “Den I guess we get de bandages washed.” Others followed suit, rinsing off in the bath tub. Even though we were filthying up the water – it remained the same level and yet we could see that from the bottom, clean water was filling in, and filthy water was running out of thin vents along the walls of the tub.
“Neat,” Kovid commented, running his hands along them, feeling the faint cracks in the marble tub. “For elves of course.”
As the party continued to clean up, Wyn gave shrug and said, “Den wot next? Who knows. It probably gonna be 'ard ta get upstairs witout a fight. Maybe we try to lure some of dem down 'ere?” He rubbed his chin, head tilted back as if thinking. “Dey will probably come back down at some point and continue to hunt us. But we don't really 'ave time to wait. We need ta get to our finished potions.” He rinsed off his cloak and shook it in the next chamber. “Maybe we should try to climb up de chimney? Deal wit de shriekers en rocks? Any odder toughts?”
Lannis cocked one hand on his hip and gave the elf a sharp glower. "I am amazed again and again how you come up with these ideas all on your own there Johnny B Goode.”
Abraxas had dipped his boots in the bath and was beating the worst of the crudd off of them on the side of the tub. "SeƱor Wynn-Dixie, es correcto. Limpiamos y get mas agua. Then limpiamos los ban-dah-jes. Despues de ban-dah-jes, maybe los Shriekers y el fireplace. Es un idea bueno."
"Um, yeah?” Lannis made a mocking face and jutted his jaw out. “I said it was a good idea"
Brendon was trying to rub a stubborn blood stain out of his shirt. “He’s been using our ideas for what seems like months,” he commented off to the magic user.
Clapping his hands together, Lannis took out the rod and made his way to the Steam Room. “Well, makes sense to me, I'll be turning the steam up while I bathe so I can keep my dignity."
“Ahm just organizin’ all de taught in one place, Monsieur Offop. Don’t ‘ave to be a putz ‘bout it.”
“Common please,” Lannis tossed back. “I have no idea what kind of dick putz means.”
Brendon chuckled and tapped Lyra, “Lass how about some wine before we start?
Taking out her skin, the Cleric lifted it high to Aine before drinking a swallow and then handing it to Brendon. He nodded a thanks and took a swallow himself, sighing in satisfaction. She took it back, downed a seconds swallow and then put it away. “Chimney, huh?” she asked. “Sounds good. Did we clear enough to pull that off?”
Finishing up his own cleaning, Kovid held his hand up and said, “Hang on. First, cleaning the bandages is always a high priority for me. Second though, climbing up the blocked chimney?” He rubbed his chin. “Hmm… my take is that would be tough, loud, and risky. We could take a look to see, but I would recommend dismantling it from the garden above. I’d vote to take the stairs for now.”
Abraxas shrugged. “Let’s do the bahn-dee-jes first, amigos.” He turned to the north east and yelled towards Lannis, “Oi! Andele! We’re moving out! Vamanos!”
“Keep your britches on! I’m coming!” Lannis had cranked the steam levels up high and using the rob, also increased the temperature of the steam, making the room moist, hot, and thick with vapors. Smiling, he left it as such and headed back. “Ok, ok. Let’s do this!”
The group made their way back the main door where they removed the cabinet and then hoisting it to the side, opened the door and with care, reentered the hall. The dead ape was still there, looking even worse for the ware after the ghouls had eaten some of it, decaying entrails and rotting flesh was spread pretty far about. Holding their nose they went west until they arrived at the stairs. Brendon and Kovid led them up and at the main hall, a quick listen let them know the place was safe.
A short walk led them to the side stairs and up those to the main north hall. They took it south and around back to the entrance chamber and then north and eventually west again until they arrived at the sulfur cavern. Kovid and Lyra donned cloaks about their face and went down into the acrid chamber where the Cleric once more cleaned the bandages in the grey boiling water (no save needed on either one, they’ve done this multiple times and as long as they keep it under a turn – no roll needed for Lyra or Kovid only). As they flashed white marking them clean once again, the two of them went back to the stairs where they rejoined the party and looked around with a smile. Abraxas placed the bandages back in the Bag of Holding and asked, “So? Now can we talk about the chimney?”
