PBEM - Episode 469. Second Horde

FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY NINE

(I/C)

Foot braced on the brazier and no undead immediately available for him to hit, Brendon pulled his wine skin about and took a deep drink. “Cheers to us!” He roared with a laugh. “Ready for the next round?”

Swinging at the next undead shoving its way through, and spotting the next 11 or so behind that one shoving and pushing at the cabinet, Abraxas (>+8 to hit, Blue 15) shook his head and commented, "El next wave es aqui SeƱor. Open tus ojos. Hay es, que, diez? Doce?” (1d8+4 Damage, Blue 6+4=10 Damage and killed) It went down with its face torn open, dead once more before it struck the ground. “Mas Undead. Hacemos mas muerte."

Lyra stuck her hand out to Brendon, taking the skin and tilting it back enough to get a swallow of wine. “Yea. Let me get some of that wine. A parade of undead is charging for us. Can’t think of a better time to drink.”

Lannis meanwhile had fished out a candle and was running back across the room where he placed it down on the floor and swiftly lit it. "What is with you people and drinking at a time like this? Don't you know the real life of the party is the sober guy anyway?" Abraxas gave a non committal grunt, eliciting the mage to add, “See? Groot agrees with me."

Kovid had to reach awkwardly across the cabinet to strike the distant undead hoping to climb up (<+6 to hit, -4 cover/distance, Yellow 3), but hit already dead bodies and not to animated one trying to climb up. “I gotta say, killing greenies the second time is almost as satisfying as killing them the first time!”

Lyra did the same (>+4 to hit, -4 cover/distance, White 16), but the head of the Lolthian Flail connected with a solid clang (1d6+2 Damage, White 3+2=5 Damage and killed!) and the revenant hissed in pain, part of its chest crushed in.

Using that as his next target, Wyn drew back his bow and let another arrow fly, streaking to the wounded one the Lyra just hit (>+8 to hit, -4 cover, Orange 12), piercing it in the neck (1d6 Damage, Orange 5 and killed!!) and dropping it. “Next time…we burn de bodies. Oui?” Looking disgusted, he drew another arrow out and nocked it. “How ees everyone feelin?”

“Doing great.” “Bueno!” “All good.” “Couldn’t be any better, Remy!”

The next in line stepped up to the Fighter and sought to hit him (<+2 to hit, Black 13), fists clanging off Abraxas’ armor, but failing to do any lasting damage. Two others climbed up on the cabinet and engaged Lyra (>+2 to hit, White 18) and Kovid (<+2 to hit, White 12), while others struggled to climb over and join them. The Cleric got tagged by a serious of vigorous grabs that left bruises (1d6 no 1, White 2 – Take 2 Damage!), but she was able to break free and return to the fight relatively ok.

(Initiative, Party Steel 6 vs Enemy Red/Black 4)

(No combative str check as there are <10 possible pushers at this time).

The sound of the second wave was getting louder as more undead were coming down the long hall to join their brethren in the fight.

Time now is Day 10, 3:52 PM

(OOC)

Hard to tell how many in the 2nd wave at this time. Two up top again to hit and Abraxas always has an ever present target to engage. Candle is lit near the open doorway to the east hall. Top of the round!
