Group has burnt anything they have, including reserves, and needs some time to hole up and rest. No more encounters, no more fighting, no more anything. Just need to find a safe harbor and settle for the night. Second time now in a long time they aren't going to use the secret vault on the 2nd floor.

FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY ONE
(I/C)
Standing up and testing his sore body, Kovid seemed satisfied and gave Abraxas a clap on the back. "Phew, thanks Big A. I needed that!"
“De nada,” came the reply, Abraxas doing the same. Both the fighters, and Lyra, looked like a mess; covered in blood, scratches, bruises, and a general weariness that belied the brutality of the day and the effect the front line fight has had on them.
After giving the pile of dead a serious once over (1d4, Orange 2), Wyn was able to find 2 more arrows that were serviceable. He quivered them and then went to Kovid, tapping the mostly empty quiver the dwarf was carrying on the back of his pack. “Dwarfriend, Wyn be taking the rest of doze arrows off yer hands.” (Add 2 plus 4 arrows to your inventory).
“Happy to help out, Wyn.” Kovid looked east, the oil fire had pretty much guttered out, and the hobgoblins seemed to be gone. “So…following them or not?”
“I don’t think we should follow them,” Lyra said cinching her shield a bit higher on her arm and tightening the straps. “My opinion would be to call it quits for the night in the bath area downstairs. Take the long way, south of the Butchers and back towards where we entered and around.”
The dwarf nodded, tugging on the end of his beard, "The baths sound good to me."
Moving to the western hall and already getting in place to take point, Brendon drew his bow and sighed. “Relaxing in a steam room while drinking wine sounds almost like the best night in a long time.”
Shaking the last of the gore from her Flail, Lyra moved east away from the corpses and got ready to go. “We might want to avoid places like the barracks. They might be hanging around there.”
"I can't argue with that logic,” Lannis said with a smile, getting a withering glower in return from Lyra. “Good job Buttermilk, I'm proud of you."
"We should worry about just getting away por ahora. We can figure out donde a vayamos once we are free of Raging Zergling y sus cohorts. Primero, vayamos West y South. As far as possible. Then we can make a plan forward, si?"
“Let’s do it people,” Brendon nodded. “Same as always. Slow and please…silent.”
The party made their way east and then south, heading past the Butcher’s. The door was open and looking inside showed the freezer door was broken and would not close again. But no undead could be seen. With great care we shut the door to the Butchers and moved on. The passage took us south and wound about, turning east and then past the Dressmakers and eventually the Scriptorium.
At the hall, Brendon had the party stop and the Scout inched forward, listening with care (<Hear Noise, +25% bonus, Red 18) for a few minutes before motioning us up. “East, I can hear faint hobgoblin voices echoing and growing fainter. For a bit there was some rhythmic sounds of heavy treads, stairs. They are heading north past the Spy’s area and heading back towards eventually the Beekeper, the Jail, and wherever they are looking to go.”
“I’d guess back up to the 2nd floor.”
“I agree.” Brendon pointed west. “I am sure he’s not going to split his forces, but just in case they did leave a scout behind, let’s take Lyra’s suggestion and make the long way around. It’s time, but frankly, it’s safer.”
The party concurred and as one, they made their way west. They went through the Kobold area, down the stairs to the cold hall, then back up and around through the block of rooms and a short distance from the western caverns. Eventually they made it to the entrance chamber and from there moved east and then north, stopping at the eastern door that lead down near the barracks.
Listening there again (no roll needed), we were sure it was quiet and safe, and then we made our way south, eventually going down the steps to the main caverns. The smell hadn’t improved as me picked our way along, the enchanted light in Kovid’s lantern never wavering as it lit our way slowly and finally to the Ishtari baths.
After checking to make sure no surprises were waiting for us within, the party entered through the door that lead to the changing room and shut it behind them. Wyn and Brendon looked around the next 3 chambers and then came back thumbs up. “We’re good,” the Scout said.
“I am so so so very done,” Lannis moaned, dropping his pack to the floor and looking around. “It’s late, I’m hungry, tired, hurting, and god knows what. I assume we’re staying? Blocking a door? What’s the deal?”
Time now is Day 10, 4:50 PM
(OOC)
Made it! Let me know what the plan is and if we are staying, watch order and who is resting. 3 sets of 4 hours? Longer? Who is getting bandaged, etc. Updated character sheets after rest, most likely next post?
