PBEM - Episode 472. Second Horde

FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTY TWO

(I/C)

"Lyra!” Lannis called out to the Cleric, coming back around to the front, hands poised to cast a spell. “Boost me up on your shoulders so I can see better!"

Ducking a wicked slash from the revenant she was fighting, she snarled back at the Magic User, “I am BUSY, LANNIS.”

Meanwhile Wyn shot the undead on top of the barrier just in front of the Scout (>+8 to hit, Orange 10), drilling it right in the lung, the arrow blowing out the back side (1d6 Damage, Orange 6).

“Sheesh!” He snorted, rolling up his sleeves and continuing to cast. “Sounds like Horsey McGee is riding the Cotton Pony right now. Never mind, as usual, it falls to me to do everything worthwhile in this party. IN ARACHNE REIF!” Strands of sticky webbing flew out from his hands, arcs over the head of the closer revenants shoving at the barrier, and then blanketed the majority right behind them, making a mess of criss-crossed webs that slowed the leading line in place, causing the mass behind them to moan and gibber and screech – SHOVING forward into the bulging webbing. “I accept thanks, paypal, and Venmo,” he said with a smile.

"Sticky Webs are un idea bueno, Señor Lahnus!” Abraxas smiled, hacking with his Scythe (>+8 to hit, Blue 9), ripping into the next undead trying to get through the northern gap. “Tenemos mucho mas Undead to take care of amigos." (1d8+4 Damage, Blue 6+4=10 Damage and killed!) It fell over broken and busted, leaving only 3 now on the immediate other side of the cabinet and this side of the webbing.

"Ten at most?” Lannis asked with a scowl. “The fuck are you talking about? There’s way more than ten!"

"Si, en accuerdo, Señor.” The Fighter sighed, explaining slower. “Tenemos similar a maybe trenta? Mas que vente, pero menos a trenta y ocho, definitely."

Lyra grunted as she hit (>+4 to hit, White 15), the revenant before her, her Flail cracking hard (1d6+2 Damage, White 2+2=4 Damage!) as it rebounded off the undead’s chest. It growled at her and continued to assault the Cleric. Meanwhile Kovid was flagging, his Hammer beating the undead he was facing (>+6 to hit, Yellow 14) about the face and chest (1d8+3 Damage, Yellow 5+3=8 Damage and killed!!) until something inside broke and it fell over limp. Running forward, he shoved his weight against the rocking cabinet and steadied it in place. “I can’t do this forever, folks.” He almost was sobbing wearily, “Who can take over for me?”

“Kovid, we can do this all day, every day!” Brendon said gasping. The Scout was stabbing again and again with his Alha blade at the last undead standing atop the barrier with Wyn’s arrow in its chest (>+4 to hit, Red 15). “Exhaustion hasn’t been introduced yet and besides I think we all still have a few beex babies in us!” (1d6+1 Damage, Red 6+1=7 and killed!!) He tore out its lungs through a hole in its ribs, and pitched it backwards off the barrier with a flourish.

"What the fuck is a beex and how did its babies get inside me?” Lannis asked with mock concern. “Which one of you put babies inside me?"

“Tu Madre.”

“WHAT did you say, Manmeat?” Lannis whirled on Abraxas.

“Nada, loco. Keep fighting, stop imagining things.”

(Initiative, Party Steel 6 vs Undead Red/Black 1)

(WMC (double chance): Red/Black 1. Time? D6+1 Rounds: White 3)

“Say what you will,” Lannis shrugged. “We’ve got the rest of this fight in the bag. Nothing bad could possibly happen to us now.” He gave a thumbs up to the party and readied his staff for another swing.

Time now is Day 10, 3:55 PM

(OOC)

Yep. Web worked! Blocked off the majority of the 2nd wave and the 3rd and last wave that is just about at the corner is going to have a problem. One (wounded) fighting Lyra, 3 accessible on the other side of the cabinet, and Kovid back at the barrier supporting it in place. Top of the round!
