PBEM - Episode 465. Making a stand

FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE

(I/C)

Shifting her grip down on the Lolthian Flail, Lyra commenced to lay about on one of the two revenants before them. She looked over at Brendon and Lannis and commented, “So we’re still fighting? I’m sure you squishy back liners had such a hard time coming to that decision.”

Giving her a side eye, Lannis arced back and swung his staff at full extension, striking the wounded undead in the chest (>+1 to hit, Pink 16). "You are literally encased in metal, while I am wearing lighting red robes, don't start."

As this was happening, glancing back around the chamber, Brendon focused on the fight with the two remaining on this side of the barrier, asking, “While we have time is there anything else in here that can be moved to the blockade?”

"Still just the brazier, hop to it Hercules.” Lannis followed up with two more hits on the stumbling undead (1d6 Damage, Pink 6 and killed!!), breaking something within with a snap and causing it to cease moving, “Anyway, I'm pretty good at this, why do you guys act like it's so hard?"

The Scout smirk, stabbing at the other revenant (>+4 to hit, Red 6), the Alha blade scoring a light slash or two, but more skin then meat and sinew. “Red?” he laughed, “More like pink, you know, that a girl would wear.”

Lyra joined Brendon in the attack (>+4 to hit, White 7) her weapon snapping out but also failing to hit anything vital. “Lannis has been a bit of a drag lately regarding his clothing.”

Kovid called back down the hall, “Don’t go too far elf-friend!” Before turning his attention back to the last undead, his Hammer striking opposite Lyra’s Flail (>+6 to hit, Yellow 12), cracking hard enough to break the undead’s skull (1d8+3 Damage, Yellow 8+3=11 Damage and killed!!) and drop it to the ground. “Don’t get the queen all worked up, you two. Haw haw haw!”

Being very serious in his strike, Abraxas led the next undead closer before lashing out with a pair of rotating swings (>+8 to hit, Blue 7). "Si SeƱor, es rosado, no es roja,” he said with some exasperation, yanking the Scythe forward and tearing the undead’s back open to the spine before severing it (1d8+4 Damage, Blue 5+4=9 Damage and killed!). Glancing over at the group, he gave a serious expression and motioned to the 3 remaining undead. “Pero, let's focus on el Undead por ahora, si?"

“Sheesh! Sorry Papi,” Lannis minced as the 2 of the last three managed to climb on top of the barrier, the last striding to the gap by the Fighter.

Meanwhile, infravision guiding his steps, Wyn continued on with his sword and shield out, watching the corner as he approached, nodding to himself at Kovid’s call and the fading sound of combat behind him. “Hm… I wonder iffin Mira ‘ad some contingency spell so that when she died all de dead bodies came back?” He mused.

At the corner he turned and looked, verified it was clear, and continued on that direction, waiting and watching for any danger. “Den why would dey be in de freezer? To keep dem fresh? Very queer…” Realizing that he was all alone with only his echoed footsteps ahead and behind, He shook his head and looked around with a frown, “Ugh ‘ow long be dis ‘allway?”

Meanwhile the one closest to Abraxas did manage to close the gap between the two of them, ducking under a long Scythe swing, and then came up inside the Fighter’s guard (>+2 to hit, White 20 – Critical, Max Damage: 6 Damage!), and caught his in the chin and neck, clacking his teeth together and making his see stars. “Pendejo!”

“Focus on the undead, Abraxas, ok?” Lannis said with poor humor.

“Ha ha, Senor Lemmywinks. Muchos funny. Not!”

The other two did get on top of the cabinet and each made their attack against Lyra (<+2 to hit, Black 7) and Kovid (<+2 to hit, Black 9), but were stymied in their efforts and instead were looking to cross over and bring the fight even closer.

(Initiative, Party Steel 4 vs Undead Red/Black 2)

And we could hear the larger horde in the distance getting closer.

Time now is Day 10, 3:47 PM

(OOC)

And you guys lucked out on Initiative again. This is the last 3 – 2 minutes until contact from the leading edge of the larger horde. The choke point was really helpful, kept the battle flow stunted.
