PBEM - Episode 473. Undead, Webs, and Wandering Monsters

The hits just keep on coming. Web won't last, and the WMC last turn was realized by the party - they are on borrowed time, and the still need to clear the area out.

Follows:

FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTY THREE

(I/C)

Looking around with concern, Lannis spun his quarter staff absently as the undead continued to try and rip through the webbing. "Why do I get the feeling that Lyra just did something terrible? Lyra, did you just do something terrible? If something terrible happens I'm going to blame you."

Ignoring Lannis, Abraxas concentrated on the next undead (>+8 to hit, Blue 15), his Scythe once more dispatching one of the shamblers (1d8+4 Damage, Blue 7+4=11 Damage and killed!) with critical ease.

Throwing a withering look at the wizard’s way, Lyra smashed her Lolthian Flail into the wounded revenant, trying to take it down (>+4 to hit, White 10). “Why won’t this thing DIE?” She caught a lucky blow along its head, bursting it open and spraying rotting brain matter across the battlefield (1d6+2 Damage, White 6+2=8 Damage and killed!). “Got it!”

Meanwhile looking around the room and then glancing behind him, Wyn commented, “You know, I was tinkin I might step away from dis door to pick up some arrows since we might ‘ave some breathin’ room…. But now I got de feelin dat I should stay near dis door fer some reason.” He drew another arrow from his withering quiver and got ready to fire. “Weird.”

"Watch out for my candle, Frog legs," Lannis called out.

Kovid swung his hammer over the barrier at the revenant enjoying some cover (=+6 to hit, -4 cover/distance, Yellow 10), forced to hit the upper portion of the undead orc. And hit he did, the enchanted Hammer (1d8+3 Damage, Yellow 6+3=9 Damage and killed!) crushed the dead greenskin’s neck and knocked it down. “Need. A. Break.”

At his position atop the brazier, Brendon had an easier time attacking (>+4 to hit, Red 19) and cracked the last revenant not trapped behind the stretching webs in the upper chest (1d6+1 Damage, Red 3+1=4 Damage!). “I’m trying to think of something witty to say but I’m drawing a blank.”

Tossing a smile his way, Lannis quipped, "Don't hurt yourself, it'll happen one day."

Wyn finally fired at the lone wounded revenant (>+8 to hit, -4 Cover, Orange 12), drilling an arrow into its shoulder as it gave up on climbing over and turned north to try and attack Abraxas (1d6 Damage, Orange 2)

As it plied its attack against the Fighter (<+2 to hit, Black 16 (missed by 1!)), Abraxas defended himself and called to Wyn, “SeƱor Waynch, would it make sense to check out el hallway uno mas tiempo? Es been una while since we last looked. No quieramos get stuck between dos fronts. Maybe un patrol de Roberts es en el area ahora. Si asi, necessitamos a saber."

(Web integrity/holding based upon poor anchor points and multiple pressing bodies: 2d4 rounds – 4+1=5 rounds!)

A look over and through the webbing had Brendon call out, “I think…I think there at 7 behind Lannis’ web. And they are pushing hard. It’s only held on poorly in the middle of the floor, walls, and ceiling – not anchored to the corners.”

“Damn it, I’m a magic user, Brend, not a manufacturing engineer.”

(Initiative Party Steel 3 vs Undead Red/Black 6)

The wounded revenant tried once more to rip through Abraxas (<+2 to hit, Red/Black 2), to no avail. And from down the long hall behind the majority of the second wave, we could hear the shambling slowest batch of the third wave finally turn the corner and make their approach.

Time now is Day 10, 3:56 PM

(OOC)

Last wave is 6 total, they move the slowest. There are 7 beyond the web. Web will rip down in 5 rounds. Something else happens in 3 rounds. There is ONE wounded revenant attacking Abraxas right now. Bottom of the round! You go kids!
