PBEM - Episode 457. Every Undead Miniature

Group made the right call - run and run now. There was lots of back and forth on Discord as to whether go north or south, with excellent points made for either. But they needed to go and go now, and the party needed to find a place to fight them where they would not get overrun.

Follows:

FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY SEVEN

(I/C)

Seeing the undead bunching up behind the Paused undead in the doorway, Brendon whipped his swrod around and tore open the door to the hall. “Let’s go! There’s no reason why we should die in this room, let’s get out,” stepping out and waving Lannis over.

“SeƱora Laykira,” Abraxas said nervously, “Annie's ayuda would be bueno uno tiempo mas."

Terrified, Lannis pulled out one of his diminishing number of darts and called to Lyra, "Oh crap. Horse? Horse! Help me!"

Cracking her knuckles, the situation turning from bad to worse, she turned to the north next and readied her next turning. “Wow Lannis, you’re the definition of bravery.” The Magic User gave a hasty look at the arms and hands reaching through the Freezer and hurled his dart in that direction (<+1 to hit, Pink 1 – Fumble!! 1-2 hit friend, 3-4, hit self, 5-6 trip and stunned 1 round. Pink 2 – hit friend! 1d4: Wyn, Abraxas, Kovid, Lyra – Pink 4 – Lyra! HAhaha. 1d3 Damage, Pink 3: 2 – Lyra take 2 damage!). The Cleric continued, “Thanks for all the…AHHH! You FUCKING moron!?! You HIT me!!!” Seeing Lannis lifting his robes and running out the door as the undead finished knocking down the paused one and filled the room, she shook her head and snarled, “I’ll get you later for that, Ass!”

“It was an accident!” He called back. “Besides, guess who needs healing now…You Long Faced bitch!?!?!”

“So will my size 8 be up your kiester!!” The animated dead were coming closer, hobgoblins, goblins, salamanders, some missing foots and stumping closer, others whole and moving fast. A second wind rose up behind her and Lyra intoned, “Aine, another turn undead! This time with a little more oomph please! TURN!!” And another blast of god borne wind and light blew down her arm and struck the lead undead as they marched over their comrade in their effort to reach the party (2d6 hd: White 2+ 4=6 – 6 skeletons!!) and this time the bursting wave consumed the ones already out of the chamber, but a few that were at the door and just inside as well – revealing even more looking to make their way.

“Thor’s balls more undead! We have to fall back or fight em’ here folks,” Kovid shoved hard as Abraxas hauled back and got ready to swing and the limbs still protruding. “Make up your minds now. I think Big Brain ran away again.”

“Wyn got de door, mes amis!” Wyn braced his foot, watching the north door and the momentary clear run to the exit. “Take care of deze hands so I can shut it!”

"Push them back, amigos. Get ese bastardos sealed away.” Lining up his swings, Abraxas let his Scythe fly (>+8 to hit, Blue 16…Extra Attack, >+8 to hit, Blue 10). He sliced an arm at the elbow, kicked a stray leg back inside, hacked at some reaching fingers, and even severed one third of a skull that refused to back up in time, sparks and silver flashes abounding until Wyn and Kovid were able to muscle the door closed. “Come Senora!” he implored Lyra, stepping in front of the Cleric to shield her from the newly arriving undead from the north, and then dragging her towards the exit. “It’s time!”

“Go, go, go!” Wyn cried out, the elf and dwarf running through the sand just a few seconds ahead of the undead coming from the Butcher’s chamber, while they could hear banging and slamming at the closed Freezer door behind them.

In the hall, they could see Brendon had moved south, the Scout had his sword out and was looking back, making sure that everyone was in the hall with him. “Tell me where we’re going?!” he called back.

“Somewhere away from here!” Lannis answered. “Move, Garmin! Directions on the way!”

Kovid could hear the undead right on his tail and look back let him know that only a couple of spear lengths separated him from the closest; a snarling Salamander with a split face and a wicked hole driven into its chest, showing pulverized ribs through the meat. “I think I’ve killed that one before!” he said, pushing into the hall.

Time now is Day 10, 3:37 PM

(OOC)

Destroyed: 3 from the Freezer, 6 from the North room. Unknown amount still following. Larger horde temporarily halted for now – they have to break the door down. IN the hall, heading south – can reverse that if you want to. What next?
