PBEM - Episode 517. Orcs, Grimtooth, Mongrelman

Took out the Thief...Scout this meeting. It didn't stick, but got him down and under 0. Party is doing a great job though of controlling the battlefield.

FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTEEN

(I/C)

Lannis was working up another spell swiftly as the orcs were funneling further into the room. Seeing the Magic User fixated where he was, Abraxas reversed his course and ran off to the lone orc by the Fireplace, Scythe leading the way. He (<Orc attack @ +3, White 15) got hit by a stray sword blast as he ran, but shook off the effects, charging at the orc there. "Mueres Orcasa. Vayas con tus hombres en el Great Beyond o donde tus tipo vayan cuando mueren!” He hit hard (>+8 to hit, Blue 12), slamming the porcine warrior into the back wall. “Amigos, listamos a hacer todos de los Orcasas muerto? Hacemos!" He slashed and cut and kicked and thrust (1d8+4, Blue 4+4=8 Damage and killed!!), weakening the orc further and further with his wild powerful thrusts.

Teeth grit, trying to keep the ghouls from running rampant and attacking Lyra, Kovid was still on one knee and shoving his will at the undead. "Scout master Brendon, throw your tuna at the mongrel!" (>Wis check, Yellow 13) He groaned as his control slipped again, and the 4 ghouls jump ran another 5’ closer to the Cleric who was being dragged backwards by Wyn, just out of the room. “Ugh! Can’t keep them much longer!”

Seeing her state, Wyn took out his elven soap and his water skin, and began lathering up his hands and the end of her cloak to use as a makeshift washcloth. “Merde! Priestess, I clean de yuck off ye so ye cen do ye own ting… or ye cen use dis soap as I pour de water.!

She helped out, “It’s EVERYWHERE. I’m never going to smell good again.” She helped Wyn as they tried to dilute the muck covering her. “Many hands make light work,” she said. Hearing the dwarf groan and seeing the undead chattering step forward towards her, she growled out, “If they come at me Kovid, I’m turning them! Fucking ghouls. Worst idea ever.” While this was going on, she took out her potion of Extra Healing and popped the top, drinking it down (XHeal 2d6. White 5+5=10, Heal 10 (back up to 20 hps)), sighing with relief as it did its work.

Taking his own bladder back out, Brendon noted very aloud, “Ever notice that their supposed leaders are always cowering behind their crew? Mirabell hid behind the ghouls, Rampart Zeatory hid downstairs and now Grimtooth is hiding in the back room. Hey Grimeteeth! Why you hiding!?”

From behind him and Kovid, Lannis interrupted his spell long enough to ask, "I'm in the back, what are you implying about my leadership? ZU!" A burst of pink smoke flew out and struck the gaggle of orcs at the door (4d4 hd: 1,1,3,2=7 hd), making three of them fall over and hit the ground asleep, joining the one that was still there from earlier. “Clearing the way for you guys,” Lannis commented, “Someone else has to start doing some heavy lifting!”

“Got it!” Brendon smiled and pierced the bladder with his arrow and threw it overhand at the stalking Mongrelman (>+6 to hit touch, Red 9), bursting the foul guts all over the humanoid menace, making it cry and howl in anger.

(Immediate Wis check Kovid: >Yellow 16).

The ghouls chattered forward again, three of them reversing themselves TOWARDS the Mongrelman, but the last one closest to the Cleric, tried to get through the door to get Lyra. Kovid groaned, and forced them to stop again (5’ step again). “Get that shit off of her!” the dwarf snarled. “I can get it to reverse course. And I can’t just let the 3 go!”

“Workin’ on it, Monsieur Dwarf!”

“Keep that undead bastard away one more minute!” Lyra yelled.

The Mongrelman stalked towards the 2 ghouls, looking furious at the much hanging from its clothes and furry patches of skin. It howled like a moose and smashed its improvides coatrack at the wounded Natasha (>+6 to hit, Black 15…>+6 to hit, Black 10). The ghoul took a wicked swipe across the face (1d10 Damage, Red/Black 1), ripping one eye out and twisting her head, but little more. It was the followup series of attacks that (1d10 Damage, Black 9 and killed!!) busted her skull wide open, followed by slamming her in the chest hard enough to collapse her lungs. The ghoul dropped, broken and dead.

“Make room,” came the command from the hall. “And wake our friends up, don’t bother reloading

“Aye, Grimtooth!” the orcish crossbowman, slung his weapon over his shoulder and proceeded to slap, shake, and prod one of the sleepers awake.

The spearman took aim at (Black 2: Kovid) the dwarf and threw his 2nd spear at him (<+3 to hit, White 12), the weapon slamming into his shoulder but turned aside by his armor.

“You! Mouthy one!” Grimtooth finally was able to take stock of the chamber. The orcish ranger had his bow out and was frowning as he looked over the chamber. “So unneeded, all this killing.” He looked at Brendon. “I lead where I am best able to. You vermin stormed in here making a fucking mess. Trust me, I’d be happier in the front.” He had an arrow loaded, and raised the bow, sighting at the Scout. “So let me show you how I’m not cowering.” He fired (>+7 to hit, Green 18), the clothyard shaft slamming into Brendon right through his armor (1d6 Damage, Pink 3), and sinking deep. “Don’t worry, I wouldn’t want you to think I’m finished with you.”

Glancing back he yelled out, “Stop fucking with the door and get your mongrel ass in here, NOW!!” The call from the other chamber was a barking snarling hiss as something answered, lumbering towards the door finally.

(Initiative Party Steel 4 vs Enemy Red/Black 6)

“Have another, coward,” Grimtooth addressed Brendon, shooting him again (>+7 to hit, Green 9), the arrow tearing into the Scout’s lower chest (1d6 Damage, Green 5), just passing under his lungs and ripping him up inside. “Aww, you going to cry or beg?” he snarled, nudging the spearman. “Finish that disrespectful scumbag.”

“Ay, Grimtooth!” The spearman had his last spear out and ran across the chamber, weapon leading the way. He dodged to the right, sliding just into Kovid’s area before lashing out with his spear and driving Brendon’s bow aside. The Scout tried to deflect the spear thrusts but after so badly wounded, he was having difficulty seeing when a solid spear thrust hit him (>+3 to hit, White 7) to the left of his heart and punch in at least 6 inches! (1d6+1 Damage, Red 4+1=5 Damage and out! Down to -2. Will be Dead/Dead @ -5.) Brendon gurgled, held onto the spear, lost focus and fell over dying, breath growing wet as his lungs filled with blood.

“Excellent!” Grimtooth laughed. “Let’s do another!”

“Holy FUCK!” Lannis cried out! “That might have been ME!!!”

The crossbowman woke up another sleeping orc (2 still sleeping), while the one awakened last round ran off to help the Mongrelman try to take out the last ghoul in melee range with him. Speaking of the Mongrelman, he swung hard, his coatrack slamming flesh and cracking off the floor and wall as the ghoul was shuddering in place (<+6 to hit, Steel 2…>+6 to hit, Steel 10), hitting hard enough to smash bones and bruise the undead’s skin (1d10 Damage, Black 4). The last orc did get close enough and aided his attack on the ghoul (<+3 to hit, Green 5), keeping it occupied, but not doing any real damage.

Lyra and Wyn both shouted out, “Done!” as the last of the larger chuncky parts of the filthy fluids was washed off of her (Wyn, reduce water to 0 – great use of the soap – assume it’s used up at this point).

Time now is Day 11, 4:43 PM

(OOC)

Control Undead – 9 mins.

Funny thing Kovid, you failed all the Wisdom checks (would have been great to hit rolls), but with Lyra no longer coverd in the major parts of the “tuna can”, even if you relax control and let the ghouls just be ghouls – they WILL charge and attack the mongrelman without any control or command from you since it is also covered in tunacan. You could NOT let that happen last round, 1 of them was still bee lining for lyra and would have targeted her. Bottom of the round. 2 orcs still sleeping. 3 ghouls left, 1 whole, 2 lightly wounded. Brendon is at -2 and WILL die at -5, 3 rounds to get healing at him or you will need to use your last Raise Dead Scroll. Grimtooth is at the door with a bow and  +7 to hit. 2nd Mongrelman has been called to come forward and stop trying to get the doors opened.
