PBEM - Episode 514. Planning ahead

Party wanted to maximize their use of the Control Undead potion so were looking to head over to Grimtooth if at all possible and take on the orc and his forces regardless of the lateness of the day and their dwindling hp and resources.

FIVE HUNDRED FOURTEEN

(I/C)

“Ugh,” Wyn grunted, stretching and feeling his joints pop. “Glad dat be ova. Nice magic usage, Offop. Good scythin’ Salazar.” He looked over the gear we had collected, rubbing the back of his left forearm in pain. “Dat Z guy was a strong putain… first time Wyn been hit like dat. I tink? I cen’t remember anymore!”

"Yeah, good point Gabriel Knight, it was good,” Lannis agreed with a smile. “You're welcome. Let's go get those Orcs, as long as I get a healing potions to hold on to, I think I earned it!”

Brendon fingered the hobgoblin crossbow and nodded. “Wyn you wanna carry the crossbow or should I?” He also picked up the squishy bladder of guts the hobgoblin’s referred to as a “tuna can” and weighed it. The ghouls watched it bobble up and down, eyes fixated on it. “I might lob the tuna can behind the orcs if Lilman loses his control over them.”

The elf shook his head, “Works for me. Anyway, if ye all don’t mind, I be taking dis magic shield. If anyone wants to take dis odder shield I been carrying around, feel free to have it.” He hoisted it once and then laid it out on the ground. “Onto de orcs, oui? Monsieur Offop, you want to Crystal spy on dem now? Or try en get closer first?”

“Scry or fly big Brain?” Kovd asked, “The quintuplets are getting antsy to rend flesh.”

Taking a look around as Abraxas was taking out his bag of holding and the rest of the group was figuring out what to do, Lannis withdrew his ball and stand, ready to use for the last time today. “I'll scry, since we have the time."

As he began the process, Abraxas finished handing out whatever gear or treasures were needed by everyone. The Hobgoblin’s Shield and Healing Potion to Wyn, who drank it down with a nod and smile (Healing Potion 1d6: Orange 4 – Heal 4!), A healing potion for Lannis who pocketed it, an Extra healing to Kovid and an Extra Healing to Lyra who both pocketed theirs. ”Oh, thanks!” Lyra exclaimed with a grin, “That’ll come in handy I’m sure.” Nodding the Fighter continued, handing the Crossbow and 5 bolts plus the bag of Tuna Can to Brendon, and kept the last 1 Bolt for himself. He also put Wyn's spare shield and the 150 gold pieces in the Bag of Holding.

As Lannis was going through the Scry, the group kept a weather ear both below and above the Watchtower, as well as checking out the window as need be now and again. While time was passing, the elf asked, “Do any of us know anytin about ‘ow de Mongrelmen fight? Are de just very strong en ‘ard to kill? Or do we ‘ave to worry bout poison or sometin? Just a tought.”

Kovid shrugged. “They are pretty damned tough, I’ve seen a few go toe to toe with an ogre and come out on top. No poison, or anything like that. The best thing they had going for them is they can mottle their skin, giving them some really good camouflage if need be. I’ve heard stories or dwarven troops that sauntered past some hidden mongrelmen and then get assaulted from behind.”

Pointing her thumb at the controlled undead, Lyra commented, “Hopefully we can make quick work of them and the orcs with the ghouls.”

“I ahgree,” Wyn nodded, “I figure after we deal wit dem, we come back here en remove de heads of deeze tings to prevent de revenantin’.”

Abraxas closed up the bag of holding and put it back on his belkt. “We have to have a plan, amigos. Vamonos a los Orcasas. Ese Ghoulies son muy useful por el Paralyze hacen. Si they can Paralyze el Hombre de Perro, tenemos una shot bueno a ganar la lucha con Greektithe y Goons. Hace Señor Languine necessitar a Scry? Usamos los Ghoulies en Mirrorballs' room a limpiar los Orcasas hay. Despues de que, we lock todos los puertos con Señor Wyntles uniform. Tambien, we send los Ghoulies en la Sanctuary, y close el puerto ultimo, y lock it. We lose control of los Ghoulies, pero they are locked en con los Orcasas y Hombre de Perro. Cuando es quiet una mas, vamonos en el room y limpiamos que es left. Es un plan bueno, si?"

The party looked him over and frowned. “I am going to have Big Brain run that through the translator,” Kovid muttered, “But I think you’re saying we lock the doors with Wyn’s magic uniform and then toss the ghouls in there and shut and lock the door? Let them fight it out and then we play clean up?”

“Si! I said that.”

“Hmm, worth talking about.”

“Shh!” Lannis scowled (<Int check, Pink 3), “Being mystical over here. Alright! Orcs, orcs, orcs. Let’s see em. And…coming in now! Alright, Crystal ball is all over the place, gotta zoom out a bit…Ok! They are in the Sanctuary and Mirabellis’ chamber. EW! One of them found the ‘handy’ section of the bedroom and has them lined up on the table in what seems to be size order. Yeck!”

“’ow many?”

“9ish if you include Grimtooth. All staying in this area. Looks like frat boys with the laughing and horseplay I can see going on.”

“Mongrelmen? You see them?”

“Crystal isn’t letting me zero in on them, but yeah – 2 of them. Both ugly as Lyra!”

“Hey!”

“Hey nothing, their loss. Your gain. Roll with the punches, sister.”

“So, it looks like they didn’t hear the fireball?”

Lannis shook his head. “I’m going to say, hell no.” He frowned. “I will say this, these brutes look bigger and stronger than the Hobgoblin’s just dead.”

“It’s ok, we’ll still kill ‘em.”

“Any guards?”

He spun his fingers on the ball’s surface. “No, not that I can see. But I don’t think they’re oblivious to the outside area – just don’t seem to be agonizing over it, I would think.” He sighed. “And dark.” He looked around, “We going? Otherwise we’re going to have an expiring warranty on these ghouls real soon.”

Time now is Day 11, 4:25 PM

(OOC)
