PBEM - Episode 499. Third Time's the Charm

FOUR HUNDRED NINETY NINE

(I/C)

Looking around at the destruction of the undead in the hall, Lyra could feel the last vestiges of Aine’s power fade away from behind her eyed. “Wow… finally. I MEAN. Thank you Aine!”

Giving a quick sign of thanks to Thor, Kovid lifted his foot and kicked the nearest Revenant back, stepping forward a bit to make some more room behind him. "Ah!” he exclaimed, “Thank the Goddess, Lady Lyra! That was just what we needed!"

Opting to save some arrows, unfurling his sling and loaded up a stone, Wyn smiled, adding his elation, “Praise Aine! Très bien, Priestess!”

Lastly, Abraxas had his Morrigaan Scythe out and fast stepped his way to the front, sidling past the rest of the party to join the dwarf at the front line. "Señora L8ra... wow... que was incredible. Mucho mad impressive que todos de cosas Señor Lingus, tu could aprendes una cosa o dos para Señora L8er. Amigos, let's hacemos los muertes el segundo vez."

Lyra placed her hand on Brendon’s shoulder and muttered short prayer under her breath, “Lady Aine, thanks. Seriously. Lets give a small help to master Brendon here for his efforts and cure his wounds.” (CLW 1d6+1: White4+1=5, Brendon heal 5!)

Feeling his latest hurts fade away, the Scout smiled broadly and gave the Cleric a firm sidehug, “You are the best! I want you to accompany me on every adventure from now on.” He took out his bow and prepped one of his arrows.

Lannis had a puss on, begrudgingly taking out a dart, and grumbling low as everyone was ranting and raving over the Cleric’s recent turning. "Yeah well, I could do that too,” he bitched. “It wasn't really that impressive, and my thing works on all kinds of stuff, not just dead stuff.”

Kovid had traded enough blows with the undead he was facing to set up for a double handed swing (>+6 to hit, Yellow 16), cracking the enchanted hammer into the revenant’s chest (1d8+3 Damage, Yellow 6+3=9 and killed!) and crushing it’s ribs and undead heart, slaying it instantly.

“My thing makes not dead stuff dead stuff,” the Magic User continued, “and I don't even need a stupid god to do it.” He lilted his voice an octave higher and curled his upper lip, still grumbling. “ 'Oh I'm Lyra I'm so cool and people like me.’ Whatever,” he spat, “you'll see, you'll all see.”

He watched as the Fighter stepped beyond Kovid to beat at the next revenant with his Scythe (>+8 to hit, Blue 15), ripping through its guts and spreading entrails and intestines everywhere (1d8+4 Damage, Blue 3+4=7 damage!). “I'm gonna go frrrbawl,” Lannis resumed as Abraxas spun to hit the last revenant, “and you'll all be like 'oh wow Lannis you're so cool why did we ever doubt you and we shouldn't have been mean to you'.”

Abraxas made a split decision on seeing Wyn and Brendon ready to hurl and shoot, and pivoted, committing his extra attack at the last undead (>+8 to hit, Blue 10), cracking the half dead goblin in the hip (1d8+4 Damage, Blue 6+4=10 damage and killed!!) and folding it half, smashing it into the side wall. Giving the ground an absent kick, Lannis concluded his bitchfest with, “Stupid Lyra probably just did that to make me look bad, I bet that's what it was."

“You say sumtin, Monsieur Offop?” Wyn asked, getting his sling up to speed.

"Nothing!” he exclaimed, looking guilty, “What are you talking about?"

“Whatevea. Let’s clean dis up.” Wyn let the sling spin faster and then hurled the stone at the remaining wounded revenant (>+7 to hit, Orange 13), cracking it in the neck (1d3 Damage, Orange 2:1 – 1 damage and killed!!) where it went down with a pinched off scream and died.

The hall went silent after that and the party waited, listening…but all they heard were the echoes throughout the castle of the recent battle coming back to them…and then nothing.

“And that’s how you do it,” Kovid said, saluting the group with a smile before looking around at the remains of the undead littering the hallway.

Time now is Day 11, 12:43 PM
