PBEM - Episode 417. Sucks and North.

FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTEEN

(I/C)

Lannis shook his head as Wyn’s suggestions. "As both the hero of the day, and the most correct about the locusts, I say we go check on this goblin situation.”

The Fighter’s eyes lit up, spinning the Scythe with excitement. “SiSiSiSi,ElGobsMuerenAhora.”

Nodding in acceptance, Wyn said, “H’okay... we go nord up to de old adept room it is.”

Giving Brendon a nudge to go down the stairs, the Magic User said, “Whizzer, lead the way."

As they progressed, getting closer to the Labs, Wyn whispered, “Monsieur du Lac, cen we listen to de lab door, en at de corner just afta de lab door before we move on?” The Scout nodded in reply and motioned for silence as the party approached the corner. At the door, he leaned against the panel, ear cocked, straining to hear (<Hear Noise, +25% quiet, Red 28), but after a dozen seconds or so motioned that all was clear. He did the same at the corner both north and south, and repeated the thumbs up motion when complete.

Pointing his hammer north, Kovid muttered, “Back toward Candella it is.”

“VamonosAmigos,AndaleRapido.”

“Let’s take our time, oui?” Wyn asked laying out the plan. He motioned to the dwarf who took out the map, the elf pointing to the northeast area they were heading back to. “When we get to de door most soud you all wait an den Wyn will sneak up to de next trois doors en take a listen to dem, lockin’ dem on de way if dere be locks in de doors.”

Brendon pointed to the second door and tapped the map there where it was labeled baths along with a doddle of Candella the matron. “If the door is locked to the bath area,” he muttered, “it might indicate someone is in there."

The elf pointed to the two doors past the bath. “Iffin dese doors be closed and dere are goblin sounds but no locks on the doors, Wyn will create a lock on the nordmost door en de middle door.”

“What if they pulled a Bob the Builder issue and took the doors off? Also, didn’t you lock one of them?” Kovid asked.

“Some doors maybe ’ave been swapped out or removed since we locked dem already like de hobs did. So we may ‘ear dem as we approach. I not be listening fer anytin dey be sayin... only to see iffin dey be in de room.”

“Don’t be a hero,” Brendon said.

“MaybeHacemosElFuegoPlanCuandoLosGobsEstanNear," Abraxas shrugged.

Giving the map a last look over as Kovid tucked it away, Lyra suggested, “How cool would it be to set Abraxas on fire WHILE he has haste?”

“That would be cool,” Brendon smiled.

“Nothing could go wrong,” she added, “Perfect plan. Goblins will never see it coming.”

“And now you ruined it,” Lannis sighed. “It’s doomed.” He pointed, “Let’s go, time and inhalable haste power is wasting.”

The group turned north and made their way slowly up the hall. They could hear odd noises in the distance, goblinoid voices, but nothing local or in the hall – muted like maybe behind doors. At the southern most door, Brendon had the group stop, weapons out, the Scout listening hard (no roll needed) before he assured them that there was no one right on the other side of the door.

Wyn pointed north and said, “Be right back. Quick look and lock. Den we come back en we enter de fireplace sittin’ room... maybe to fight.”

“Si!Grandefight.”

Wyn broke away from the group and proceeded to make his way north, his eyes flipping over to infravision as he came upon the bathhouse door. He could hear muted goblin voices within, letting him know the bath was being occupied at this time. However as he was going to keep heading north, the end of his vision indicated that the north most door was open. And was radiating low levels of moving heat as well as visible light. And the goblin voices were more distinct (nothing to be made out). As well as the yipping and barks of wolves.

“Merde,” he muttered, “Don’t want dem to smell or hear me.” Deciding it might be better to go back to the group, he headed back and let them know of the open door, definite goblin presence at least behind the Adept room and the Bath door, as well as the light.

Time now is Day 10, 7:27 AM

(OOC)

Haste – 35 Minutes

No way of knowing if the door is still on the hinges or not. And didn’t make the 2nd northmost door – too close to the other and would generate a listen/sense from the wolf(ves?) within. Right now you guys are not noticed. And all at Southmost of the 4 doors.
