PBEM - Episode 412. Hoots, Webs, Haste, and Fire

FOUR HUNDRED TWELVE

(I/C)

Seeing how close the skeletons had come, Wyn switched to his sword and shield and asked Lyra, “Uh, Priestess? Cen we get a little Aine intervention back here?”

"Ahh! Fatty Lumpkin save me!” Lannis screamed, trying to fend off the attacking skeletons. “I'm being attacked by locust adjacent assassins!"

Take a haste induced fast look down the hall and noting the state of the webbing still around the shebear, Abraxas turned to the Cleric and asked, “SeñoraLyralogist,PorFavor, CouldTuHacesElExplodySkellingtonsThingy?”

“You got this?” She asked, watching Abraxas’ head bop up and down in blur. “Gotcha. Hey! Bubblegum! Don’t let your panties get in a wad, I’m coming!”

Brendon was ducking under another blast from the closest skeleton, glancing back to request, “Lass, if you’d be so kind and protect the sunshine.” He cocked a thumb at Lannis and sidled to the side as Kovid came charging up, switching places with the Scout. “Thanks, Lil Man.”

"By Thor! Just think of how easy fighting locusts will seem after this fight!"

"PrimeroEresHoots,AhoraElOsoMuere,” The Fighter said, spinning his Scythe about as he prepared to assault the Shebear next. “ElOsoEsMiConcernPrimero."

“Goddess Aine! I don’t know where these undead keep coming from, but if you don’t mind…TURN!!” Once more a rippling white wave of power blossomed in the Cleric’s chest, raising her off her feet and billowing her skirts and hair about her in a localized cyclone. She pointed a nimbus clad hand in the direction of the undead…and a goddess borne blast of energy blew off and STRUCK the lead ones like a freight train (2d6 hd: White 5+1=6 Hd!), and more than HALF of the skeletons shattered to grit and bone dust, clearing the front of the hall as the back ones rocked from the impact and then made to run forward.

“Merci, Priestesse!” Wyn thanked her, stepping around the Magic User. “Monsieur Offop, get behind me, mon ami!”

Flipping off the undead, Lannis drew another dart and backed up down the hall, "Fuck you, Mirabellis! You're not getting your hat back!"

Brendon had nocked a fresh arrow and fired it at the Shebear still trapped in the fragmenting webbing (<+6 to hit, Red 5), the shaft hitting the beast but doing nothing more than enraging her. “Damn, all that fat and fur. Hoots must have liked his girls thick.”

“Jajaja.Sisisi.Moremeatonthebone.” The Fighter struck out at the bear, hitting hard and fast and taking advantage of the webbing and the haste potion (<+8 to hit, Blue 5…>+8 to hit, Blue 15). About half of his blow struck, but those that did hurt the ursine who was frantic to get close enough to hit the Fighter (1d8+4 Damage, Blue 3+4=7 Damage!). “Youaregoingdown!” he called out with a smile.

“Let’s end this fight again!” Lannis proclaimed and grunted as he threw another dart, this time at the Shebear (>+3 to hit, Pink 20 – Critical. AGAIN!! 3 Damage!). It flew end over end and hit the bear straight in the snout, ripping her nose open and then dancing across her face just missing her eye. It blinked in obvious pain and then ROARED at the Magic User who stumbled back a step. “Damn it! Last time I did that it died. That dart must have been defective!”

Wyn and Kovid had locked step with one another and as the last 5 skeletons hit their position, they struck. The elf blocked and hacked (>+6 to hit, Orange 16), the enchanted short sword nicking bones and snapping them where he could (1d6+2 Damage, Orange 4+2=6 Damage), threatening to knock the entire undead apart. The Dwarf was not as lucky with his strikes (<+6 to hit, Yellow 5), cracking skulls and hitting arms aside, but unable to land a telling blow.

(Initiative Party Steel 2 vs Enemy Red/Black 3)

In retaliation, the skeleton the dwarf was fighting (>+2 to hit, Black 17) did get a decent scratch on the dwarf’s left arm (1d6 Damage, White 3 – Take 3 Damage!) but not even close enough to drop the doughty fighter. The other one in the front, rattled and busted up a bit, swung less sure but no less deadly in its attack at the elf (>+2 to hit, Black 1- Fumble! 1-2 lose weapon, 3-4 hit other, 5-6 hurt self 1 hp. Green 4 – Hit other). It didn’t count on a vicious riposte from the elven warrior and was off balance when it made to lunge forward and slam its sword down.

On the skeleton in front of Kovid instead (1d6 Damage, White 3). It hit the other skeleton that was fighting the dwarf, and even though it had no skin or muscles, when it turned its head briefly to look at its attacker, you could tell that it was surprised and maybe even pissed off at the assault.

“Thanks for the help, the Thor Blasted boney piece of shit! Haw haw haw!”

The Shebear was able to lunge forward out of the webbings (last round stuck), sweeping its claws at Abraxas but the fighter was still too distant away while she was struck to use her bite as well. Her first blows fell a bit short (<+4 to hit, -2 webbing, White 8) and the Fighter was able to avoid them. But her second ones had her straining to reach (<+4 to hit, -2 Webbing, White 1 – Fumble! 1-2 stun self, 3-4 hurt self, 5-6 further stuck in webs. Blue 5 – Stuck in webs) when her rear foot slipped and she fell with a roar face first into a still viable patch of webbing, tangling herself up a bit more (she is NOT loose at the end of this round now…She is loose at the end of NEXT round – lol!).

Time now is Day 10, 6:15 AM

(OOC)

Haste – 107 minutes

Shebear trapped – ANOTHER 1 more round (next round)

Half the skellies are blown up, hallway is ruining their numbers, limited to 2 at a time, and one of them fumble hit the other one. Bottom of the round, you guys go!
