FOUR HUNDRED
(I/C)
“You know,” Lyra said with a simpering grin, “I never knew what lovely eyes harpies had.”
Kovid was nodding stupidly, “Pretty bird...”
Shoving forward, Brendon struck the remaining skeleton hard, hoping to distract it from Lannis. With the sounds of more enemies coming up the stiars, the Scout noted, “Well boys, it’s up to you!” He struck (>+4 to hit, Red 14), short sword slapping out at the undead goblin (1d6+1 Damage, Red 1+1=2 Damage!), busting it up some more, but the necromantic energies running through it still kept it together.
Having a moment to react, Lannis ripped into his backpack and drew out Mirabellis’ spellbook, whipping through the page. “Abraxas! Get ready to play catch!”
“Aye carumba!” Shouldering his Scythe, Abraxas began running towards the trio in the corner
Finding what he wanted, the Magic User recited the words to the spell with a practiced haste, "Hey sugar tits, know any lullabies? ZU!" (Sleep: 4d4 hd: 4+2+2+2=10 hd)
Hands in front of him, the Fighter charged at full speed, hoping to get the Cleric and Dwarf. "Wake up amigos. Es no tiempo por una siesta. No tiempo por esta loca. Stay con mi!"
The harpy slumped (1-3 forward, 4-6 backward: Pink 3 – Forward!) forward as its singing trailed off, both hands pushing against Lyra and Kovid as they started to come out of their daze (-2 on subsequent save). Abraxas jumped (>BX Baby Dex check, -2 to grab them before they fall or pull out of way, Blue 13 – failed), but he could tell that he was going to be a moment too late as they tumbled backwards. At the same instant, Wyn also was coming out of his charming – all three party members were windmilling their arms and reaching.
(Lyra: >Save vs D/R -2 penalty, +2 bennie superior dex, White 20…Kovid: <Save vs D/R -2 penalty Yellow 4…Wyn: =Save vs D/R +2 bennie superior dex, Orange 8). Lyra spun off in space but swung her free leg around as she reached, clapping hands with Abraxas before she could tumble down the stairs. Wyn hunched low, fingers scrabbling on the ground, actually loosing his balance briefly before he growled, “Cunty bird!” and pushed himself back up. A look back showed 3 more goblin skellies tromping up the stairs, almost here.
But it was Kovid who took the longest to snap out of the charm and when he did, he was already leaning back, hands spread, hoping to find some purchase. “Uh..no..no. NO! NOO!!!” (2d6 Damage: 5+6=11 – Take 11 Damage – wow!) there was the sound of crashing metal and rolling bodies as Kovid slammed straight down and then rolled down the rest of the flight of stairs, the dwarf tangling up with the OTHER harpy that was down there and was falling asleep – the impact of the dwarf both hurting her (3 damage) as well as woke her up.
“Kovid?” Lannis called out amidst the crashing sounds. “You ok, bud?”
Wyn whipped out his sword and shield and ran around the room towards the sleeping harpy on this floor, snarling, “Cunty bird dies!” as he buried Alha’s short sword into her chest, waking her briefly to see his face in front of hers, as she fell back and died with a choking scream.
“AHHH!” we heard from below. “You bastards! My sister!” and then Griesse tore into the dwarf she was grappling with (>+4 to hit, Black 20 – Critical – Max 4 Damage!..<+4 to hit, Black 9.. <+4 to hit, Green 9). Her huge taloned feet ripped down the dwarf’s midsection, one of the claws getting a decent grab on the flesh of his midsection, drawing blood in the process. She also had a heavy rock that she was bashing the dwarf across the head with, spitting and snarling at him, the reek of her funk making the fighter gag.
(Initiative: Party steel 2 vs Enemy Red/Black 3)
And then she dropped her rocks, fumbled around the floor, and began to sing.
“Ahhhh! Fucking shit!” “Not again!” “Cunt!!” “Get my flail! Get my flail!!”
(Only 3 need to save this time, those who had failed before – others who had saved don’t need to roll again. Save vs spells: Lyra = White 10. Wyn >Orange 20. Kovid <Yellow 5 – hahahaha! Sorry dude!)
“Soooo…pretty,” Kovid said, staring with fascination at Griesse.
“Snap out of it!”
“Turn around my pet, hands on the floor, don’t resist, and look at the flowers,” she said, hands closing around the handle of a fallen weapon. Kovid did as he was bid, eyes looking around. “I don’t…see any flowers.”
Meanwhile the 3 skeletons were fanning out upstairs, joining the one Brendon was already fighting. One went to Lannis, one to Abraxas, and one was taking the long way around to engage Wyn.
“nnnnngggg….AH!!” (Autohit. 1d8+1 Damage, Struck with Theystran Hammer. Red/Black 6+1 = 7 – Take 7 Damage!. Going for knockout, ½ Con or less. Yellow 6 – failed – dice hate you so much this fight, Kovid). Griesse brought Kovid’s own hammer up over her head and two handed, brought it smashing down on his skull where it hit with a muted THWOCK, driving the dwarf down to the floor and knocked him out. “Thanks for the hammer, my pet.” Calling up the hole she cried out, “Finish them! I’ll get Rampant!” And then we heard the sound of wings unfurling.
Meanwhile the busted skeleton on Brendon (>+2 to hit, White 18) hit the Scout with a hard blow (1d6: Green 4), making his grit his teeth and press on. Lannis was facing his own foe (<+2 to hit, White 3) but his new gloves were keeping him safe. Abraxas pulled his Scythe free, Lyra at his back, as he faced off on another skellie (<+2 to hit, Red/Black 12), holding his own. And Wyn turned, shield out, and met the last undead goblin (<+2 to hit, Teal 14), keeping it from hitting him. He glanced down the spiral stairs and shouted, “Amigos! I think she is getting away!”
“Well, that’s pretty shitty,” Lannis quipped.
Time now is Day 9, 1:58 PM
(OOC)
Kovid you are knocked out for d4+1 minutes (will roll start of next turn). Greisse has your hammer and is looking to fly. She is down the watchtower to the next room which you can look at the map to see there is a LONG set of stairs that goes further down, and she is looking to fly. Move speed counts – only 2 of you are going to be able to go 120’: Abraxas and Lannis – everyone else has too much weight and is going to go 90’. She also flies at 150’ so you guys have to figure it out. Also, there is the entire set of stairs to navigate as well as the undead fighting you. Good luck!
