PBEM - Episode 403. Heading Back, Cleanup, and Rest

The group was running real low on resources and the number of enemies remaining were becoming concentrated - meaning any fight was going to possibly be too much for them to handle. There was lots of cross talk on Discord on what the next steps should be.

“Someone help me trow dese bitches down zee hole,” Wyn whispered.

“Why?” Lannis asked.

“For de Hoots and de udder bear to eat.”

“Si,” Abraxas nodded, going to help Wyn out while the rest of the party was lining up at the door out of here. “Let’s do it.”

Lannis shrugged, "I didn't think we serious about throwing the harpys at the bears, but whatever makes you guys happy I guess.”

As one of them hit the steps with a wet thud and then rolled down a bit, Kovid was trying not to fall over, his face screwed up in pain. “Throw the birds if you want. I’m getting the fuck out of here. My head is splitting,” he gestured to the Magic User. “I see two Big Brains…and one is enough for all of us.”

Looking next to himself, Lannis asked, "Is the other one more handsome than me?"

From far below we could hear some snuffling, and a few ursine inquisitive grunts. The elf and Fighter shoved the second one down where Greisse joined her sister down into the Lower Watchtower. “Hhhrrrrrroooo?”

Lyra was having a rough time not getting sick from the ridiculous amount of blood all over the place and the wizard was leaning heavily on his staff hoping to stay upright. “Can we please go back to the hide out? I can’t jump down any more stairs today."

Brendon gave the door a fast listen (no roll needed) while the elf and fighter joined the rest of the party at the western portal. “Blessed Corfard,” Wyn whispered, “sucks bear balls.”

Opening the door, Brendon and Kovid led the group through the Scimitar hall, the Scout muttering, “At this point I’d say Hoots is more blessed than Corfard.”

We all made our way through and after Abraxas shut the door, Wyn placed his hand on it and willed it to lock, the uniform enacting one more, and final time, today. The Fighter was looking around, Scythe out, but walking so tiredly. “Donde vamonos ahora amigos? Tenemos mas horas de el día. Hacemos el mejor de que."

“Let’s get to the Secret Vault for now,” Kovid answered. Take a bit of a breather, go through the potions we have and figure out if we drink some now or not.” He looked around. “Who took the potion from the harpies?”

Wyn held his hand up. “I did for now, as well as de two pieces of jewelry.”

They made it to the stairs down and took it slowly to the hall outside the Alchemy Lab. A short listen let them know that there was STILL goblin activity far to the north of us. Feeling confident, the dwarf and scout led the group down the hall to the south and to the long hall by the gardens (WMC: Red/Black 3), nothing in our way and nothing slowing us down. Every so often Brendon gave the air an experimental swing just to be sure. Once at the north door, we cycled through and shut the door behind us, making it down the small hall to the Summoning Room and then that door was closed.

“Lass,” Brendon held his Light Coin out to Lyra who took it with a smile, withdrew the empty Recall vial, and let it fall. She disappeared in a flash.

She reappeared in the Vault Hall and went to the secret door where she opened it up and the party all cycled in again. Once inside we shut the secret door to the Summoning Chamber and Wyn used the Vault Key to open the Ispan’s Vault once more.

Feeling exhausted we all took a moment to lower ourselves to the chairs and tables and looked around. “It’s a bit after 2:30,” Lyra said, “And the bandages are clean so that is good. We should seriously figure out where we stand on Healing potions, whether we’re going to go back out there again, what our target is, and use that to decide if we drink them now or not. I have single blessing still – either resist fire or hold person.”

Wyn shrugged. “I’m tapped out.”

“Single cantrip left for me,” Lannis said.

Meanwhile Abraxas was looking through the box after taking it out of the Bag of holding, counting off the healing type potions within. “Senors, Uno potion of Healing, and Dos potions of extra healing.”

Wyn held up two vials. “I have 2 vials of healing – dat makes 3. Anyone else?”

Brendon held one up. “One more here.”

Kovid’s beard bristled. “4 Healing potions and 2 extra healing. Normally that would sound like a lot, but we’ve been steamrolling a LOT today and honestly, I don’t know if we should press our luck.”

(Current hp totals: Lan 4/11, Lyr 19/26, Wyn 14/18, Abr 14/35, Bren 5/14, Kov 17/48)

“Plus I’ve burned two permanent sleep spells today and I can’t replace it in my book until tomorrow. So seriously,” Lannis looked around, “What are we doing?”

Time now is Day 9, 2:38 PM
