The plan so far has been, "We should check out the Locust Room!" and little of anything beyond that going for it. Needless to say, half the party thinks even that is a terrible idea.

FIVE HUNDRED THIRTY FOUR
(I/C)
Lyra placed her hand on Abraxas’ shoulder and said, “Aine! Another heal please!” (CLW 1d6+1: White 3+1=4, Heal 4 – Down to 8pts damage).
Wyn looked down the dark hall, the trilling of the locusts echoing back. “So, ye locusts people gonna do yer locust ting?”
Kovid held his hands up in a surrender motion, “I’m saving my body for the dragon. Let me know when I can hit the bugs with my hammer.” He moved back to the stairs, took out his hammer and sat on the bottom step waiting.
“Tres bien,” the elf replied, “Who gets ta set Monsieur du Lac on fire? … afta de spell of course.” He looked around, “I ‘ave a flask of oil ye cen use if necessary.”
"Yo volunteer as tribute... to set SeƱor Bregnog on fuego. Haw haw!” Abraxas laughed. He wiped the smile off his face and then held out his hand, pointing down the hall, “No problemo. Sounds bueno. Let's kill some bugs. Vamonos amigos."
The Scout held up one hand in a halting fashion. “Not everything has to start at plan B. I wouldn’t necessarily have to be set on fire at first. Smoke will disperse them without them becoming extremely agitated. I think I can make it through as before and once at the door I’ll smoke up torch. If the shit gets out of hand I’ll flame on. I just need someone to get me a torch. Whadda think?”
The elf sighed and sat down on the steps next to the dwarf. “Wyn will stay by de stairs en keep en eye towards dem when ye be messin wit de locusts. I already saw de walls crawlin wit bugs en I don’t need ta do dat again.”
Lannis cocked one eyebrow and stared down at the Scout. "So you think one torch will make enough smoke to clear out all those bugs huh? Super plan Captain Caveman,” he gave the elf’s leg a light kick and then moved up the steps, sitting down right behind the dwarf and Wyn. “I'll be hanging out with Crawdaddy, let me know how it goes."
“Smoke will distract them. Probably kill all their senses temporarily,” Lyra was looking down the hall, “but they’ll immediately try to run out I’m sure. We’d still have to kill them somehow. Could be treasure in there, could be nothing but locusts.”
Wyn sighed, “Are we just headin’ back upstairs? Wyn fine eidder way.”
“Do we care about more treasure?” The Cleric asked. “If not, fireball it. If we do, maybe we smoke them out and kill them with either a little bit of fire or manually.”
“Real quick to volunteer my awesome spell there, Shadowfax.” Lannis shook his head, "No no...no. You guys wanted this, dragged us here, now go conquer the bugs. You got this!"
“Can I borrow a torch?” Brendon asked, looking around. Kovid dug a partially used one out of his pack and tossed it to the Scout. “Thanks, Lil Man.” He lit it and then turning, started moving down the hall. “Let me just see what I can see, ok?”
“Yeah, yeah! Great plan.” Lannis looked over and shuddered, “Feels like a giant stone frog death trap to me.” The elf and dwarf nodded, ears straining.
As Brendon went down the harrow rough stone passage, he had to pick his way over fallen rock and under strange outcroppings and stalactites. The number of locust he saw was growing from 1 to 2, to handfuls of them. They avoided his steps, hopping away and chirping at him. As he went though, he came to the end of the passage and the intensity of the trilling, the echoes, and the number of them continued to swell. Thanks to the elven boots and his patience, he so far avoided stepping on any, but that window was closing as it was almost a living carpet of locusts towards the end. They were also jumping and flying, at least a dozen or so alighting on his shoulders, pack, and thighs.
And torches are not designed to smoke very much, so even though the cavern was narrow and there was still air ahead, he was only making wisps of smoke in the air, rising to the ceiling. “Shit,” he muttered, getting to about where he and Wyn had gotten before, the end of the passage where it turned to the west and opened up.
He could hear some deeper sounding echoes from the opening beyond, testament to the size of the chamber, but more importantly, the number and seems to be the most likely SIZE of the locusts. Sure enough, the ones here were not all small, some were the size of his outstretched hand. And there were hundreds of them. Maybe…Thousands.
“Well,” he muttered, “Big Brain was right, a torch alone isn’t going to smoke out shit.” He turned and headed back down the passage, doing his best not to antagonize the scores of vermin around him, until he was finally clear enough to shake them free, where they scampered back down the passage. He told the group of his finding and Wyn sighed. “We already figgered dat part out afore, Du Lac. Did the smoke torch work?”
“No,” he muttered.
“No shit, you mean,” Lannis said with a smirk. “So? What’s the next idea on the stupid plan tree?”
(Cont Heal: Pule 3, 1d4+1: Yellow 1+1=2 Kovid Heal 2!) “Oh!” The dwarf exclaimed with a smile. “That felt nice.” (down to 10 pts of damage)
Time now is Day 12, 9:35 AM
(OOC)
Continual Heal – 2 pulses on the “:x0’s” for Kovid
If there is a plan, give me the whole plan on what the party wants to do. Discuss in Discord if you need, but there really wasn’t one for this turn, more of a go down and see thing.
