PBEM - Episode 566. Dungeons...and Dragon.

Magic User down, Dwarf knocked prone, and last trick, 2 rust monsters released. But math is against Corfard right now, he's bleeding hp real fast. Luckily, there is a 2nd act to this play when the first one runs out.

Follows:

FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY SIX

(I/C)

"Great start!” Lannis cheered, starting a spell from the hallway, “We shall have the fiend slain in no time at all! Amazing what one can accomplish with his friends at his side"

Giving a forlorn look at his bow, Wyn slung it over his shoulder slowly and cursed, “Merde... outta... magic... arrows.” He went through a short enchantment, magic running down his fingertips, “I... ATTACK... THE... DARKNESS!!! IN..BET…GRAV…POR!!” (Magic Missile 1d6+1, Orange 5+1=6 Damage) An orange burst of light tore through the air and hit the Dragon full on along its belly scales, making Corfard bellow in pain.

“Dibs on one of Corfard’s shull horns…skull horns,” Brendon slurred, taking aim with his arrow, standing behind the Magic User, “It’ll make a fine wine goblet!” He fired (<+6 to hit, +1 bless, Red 5), and the shaft flew true, but the arrow shattered on the dragon’s hide.

Kovid shifted his hammer further up on its grip, and then while the dragon had its head lowered to make a bite attempt, the giant dwarf leapt up, grabbing at the Wyrm’s neck and hanging on, trying to get his arms around the front. “Let’s turn that bite of yours somewhere else!”

While the dragon was occupied, Lyra stepped around the Fighter, hands on his shoulders, casting a spell and saying, “Fall back a little Abraxas. Let me get in there. LET ME GET A GOOD LOOK AT CARFAG’S BIG DAT UGLY BITCH FACE.” (CSW 2d6+2: 5+4=9+2=11, Abraxas heal 11) Most of the wounds on the fighter closed up and he gave a smile of thanks.

Corfard was shaking his neck side to side, hoping to dislodge the clambering dwarf, but turned his eye to the Cleric and asked, “Just what is a “Dat” face, monkey?!”

“I said Fat! FAT!!” She screamed, swishing her flail at him.

“Not what I heard,” Corfard grumbled.

From the hall, Lannis was wrapping up his spell, “Not what I heard either. Is she projecting? Oh well, ahem, IN BET GRAV POR!” (Magic Missile 1d6+1, Pink 3+1=4 Damage!) He then took the Corfard Statue out of his pack and pressed it to Wyn’s hands. “Here, hold this.”

“Why…Offop?”

"Don't worry,” He grinned, lifting his robes high and tucking it in his belt, “I have a plan!”

Kovid had reached as far around as he could, hands trying to wrap around the dragon’s neck, legs locked against the scales, hoping to turn the beast’s head. (<Grapple attempt +5, +1 bless, +1 Giant, Yellow 2 – ugh! Terrible) But he had such a tenuous perch and poor footing, that he couldn’t bear his weight and strength properly and Corfard continued to attack the other two party members. “GET OFF!!!” he shouted at Kovid.

"Huh... Eseeresfun,” Abraxas smirked as his strength returned from Lyra’s much needed curing. “Peroahoraestiempoamueres.” (=+8 to hit, +1 bless, Blue 13) His rapidly arcing Scythe smashed out, slicing through the dragon’s lower scales, and leaving a bloody painful wound behind (1d8+4 Damage plus 1d6, Blue 2+2+4=8 Damage!). “Tucorazonestabaconelcorazondetumadre. Eninfierno!" He roared out, swinging a series of further blistering attacks (Haste Attack, <+8 to hit, +1 bless, Blue 4), cutting scales and smashing against the dragon, but the effects didn’t seem to bother the Wyrm much.

Hoping the Dragon was occupied, Lannis lowered his head and squealed, “Ohcrapohcrapohcrap!" as he tried to run into the room and towards Corfard!

The dragon though was waiting for this moment, and with Kovid occupied elsewhere, Corfard had an open field to lash his tail with a quick flick, the tail blades cutting one of the two cables running down from the ceiling. And the dead fall over that end of the room dropped from 15’ up…straight down. (<Save vs Death Magic, Pink 9 – no)

Where some 400 drainage blocks fell with brutal effect, burying the Magic User under their tonnage, his screams rising up and then fading away as he was borne low (2d6 Damage: 5+6=11 Damage and Knocked Prone..and killed!!! Lannis at -1!! Dead/dead @ -5. Will take 1 pt of damage per round from the sheer weight of the stones burying him).

“Lannis!!!”

Corfard bellowed loud and long, the dragon’s mirth obvious along with the harsh cruel edge to his humor.

(Initiative Party Steel 3 vs Dragon Red/Black 6)

“That’s one,” Corfard growled, reaching up onto his back with its cross claw and opposite wing, hoping to grab the dwarf (>+13 to hit, Red/Black 18 – failed a grapple, so no Str check, just has you) and it did so with relish. It dug its claws DEEP into the dwarf, pulled him off the dragon, and slammed him to the castle stones with a brutal impact (1d8+4 Damage, Red/Black 7+4=11 Damage!!). Kovid groaned, spitting up blood as he rolled to a stop, his platemail dimpled from the Wyrm’s grip.

He then looked back at the two wooden crates and smiled. “I think it’s time!” (2nd attack, tail slap at crates) Instead of smashing either Lyra or Abraxas, or even working up another spell, Corfard leaned back a bit and let his tail streak out, ripping off the façade of both large crates back there and spill out onto the battlefield…two 5’ tall, feathery antenna, carapaced and agitated…Rust monsters.

And both of them caught sight of the downed dwarf in his armor, as well as Lyra and Abraxas in theirs.

“That should even things out a bit,” he snarled, aching from the many wounds covering him. He then looked down at (1-4 Lyra, 5-6 Abraxas, Steel 4 – Lyra!) the Cleric and growled, “And if I am supposedly so Fat, it’s from feasting on junk food like yourself!!” And then he lunged down and bit at the Cleric!! (>+13 to hit, Black 10) His jaws settled around her and he slammed his teeth together (3d8+4 Damage, Invulnerable potion – all random numbers forced to 1: 1+1+1+4=7 – 7 Damage!!). And although he did hit and Lyra was screaming, when he released her, she was decidedly less damaged than anyone expected her to be.

Corfard frowned deeper. “Blessed Tiamat! Just who the Hell are you people?! No matter, I assume it’s the armor. My final pets will peel it off your body, Little Monkey!”

Time now is Day 13, 8:27 AM

(OOC)

Water Breathing (Abraxas): Expires 7:48 AM on Day 14!!

Giant Strength (Brendon): 101 Minutes

Haste (Abraxas): 91 Minutes

Bottom of Round 4 – Lannis is down and dying perma-dead in 4 rounds unless you get the rocks off of him, Kovid is thrown prone, 2 rust monsters finally released (should have done it last round, went for the heal instead – Corfard’s bad!). Dragon is in terrible shape. Lyra’ potion reduced damage to minimum and saved Abraxas another bite. Let me know what the plan is? It’s not exactly over yet!
