PBEM - Episode 315. Bedrooms and Adepts

THREE HUNDRED FIFTEEN

(I/C)

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” Lannis cursed, “Come on! Lyraaaaaaa! Help me! I need a support animal!"

“See Lannis? “Lyra called out.

“I CAN’T!” he roared back, feeling behind him for a wall.

“This is what you get for being a prick!”

"Watch your mouth Buckpasser,” he snarled, pressing himself firmly back there. His hands began waving before him to make a spell. “I don't need to see to find and kick your narrow ass!"

"Mucho slimy Salamandos, amigos,” Abraxas called out, switching his attention to the Adept at his left who hadn’t cast anything yet. “Como mucho Ha-depts do we think hay en La Bastille?”

“Can’t tell cause I can’t SEE!!!”

“Let’s try this again.” Lyra shoved the Salamander in front of her back with a shield ram and spouted off a fast prayer. “Goddess! Aine! Let’s try this again…HOLD PERSON!” (1d4 targets: White 4!). A burst of white light flew out and split and then each bolt split again, seeking the Adepts in a line south from in front of Abraxas. It struck (Save Vs Spells: >White 17..<White 3..<White 5..>Black 19) all four of them, but the Salamander to his left and the Slinger just inside the doorway suddenly stopped moving, held in place by the will of Lyra’s Goddess. “Got them!”

“IN SANCT EGO!” Lannis called out, the air in front of him turning scintillating with a shield of energy protecting him. “I’m good! Except for not being able to see!”

With the Adept suddenly held in place, Abraxas swung his weapon with great acumen (No to hit needed..D8+4 Damage: Blue 6+4=10 and killed!!), slamming the Scythe through the weak part of the armor and finishing it up with a cross cut to the Salamander’s throat. Grinning he turned to Kovid and added. “El numero has to be mucho menos by ahora, si? Rapido, amigos. Muertes mucho rapido."

Wyn leapt off the table, slinging his bow across his back and pulled his shield free, one of Alha’s swords springing to his hand as he raced north to engage one of the Salamander’s up there. Meanwhile the dwarf turned his attention to the next Adept in line, the one that was already wounded earlier. He cocked his hammer back, miming loading it up, and then sprang at the Adept, the two of them facing off. “Thor’s fucking nuts Theystra, let’s get em!” (>+6 to hit, Yellow 18) He worked his weapon around in a battering flow of blows (1d8+3 Damage, Yellow 1+3=4 Damage), hitting and smacking the Adept, hurting it badly.

Wyn meanwhile was trading blows with the staff wielding Adept, the elf already experienced with the short sword. However he noted that the Orcish Werewolf’s blade was surprisingly light and nimble in his grasp and its edge seemed keener that he was used to (>+4 to hit, Orange 14), so that he had an unexpected benefit against Corfard’s minion (1d6+2 Damage: Orange 2+2=4 Damage).

Brendon meanwhile kicked back from the Adept he was fighting and rolled (Dex>12, no roll) onto the table, quick drew his bow, and fired a shaft at the Adept at the door (>+6 to hit, Red 12), scoring a deep hit somewhere in the Salamander’s upper chest (1d6 Damage: Red 6). “Turn the tide, guys!”

The one fighting Wyn was struggling (<+2 to hit, Teal 2) to hold his own against the superior elf, and was giving ground more than landing shots. The two in front of Abraxas, one of them wounded, continued to try and hammer the Fighter down to take him out of the fight (<+2 to hit, Green 8…<+2 to hit, Black 3), hitting and smacking at the warrior, but couldn’t get a hard blow in. “Corfard Damn you. Die!!” one of them howled. The lone slinger still able to move let his stone fly (<+2 to hit, Green 4), and also failed to hit the Fighter.

The one that Brendon had shot shook its head and (BX Baby Str -2, dump table over, <Olive 1 – yes) in one fluid motion bent low, slammed it hands under the edge of the table and hoisted (<Str, +2 BX Bonus, -4 weight, Yellow 5) high, flipping the Scout off the end and dumping the table on him (<Save vs D/M, Red 10 – failed), pinning him underneath!

(2 round: Morale check Goblin: 1+3=4: Back in baby! Surprise check Lyra: Red 2 – surprised!)

(>+0 to hit, +4 Surprise, Steel 19) The Cleric was getting another swing of her flail ready, satisfied with the effect her Hold Person spell had evened the odds in the room when she felt a stabbing pain on the back of her leg (1d4 Damage: Blue 4 – Take 4 Damage!). She looked down to see the greenskin that was under the bed had crawled out and spat at her in its language, a filthy dagger in its right hand. “Crap Damn it! It stabbed me!”

“Did it make the fecal on the blade like el Tigre traps?” Abraxas asked, shouldering the Adept in front of him to the side. “They do that.”

“Ugh!”

(Initiative: Party Steel 4 vs Enemy Red/Black 6 – finally the other way)

Wyn continued to dominate his end of the fight (<+2 to hit, Red 6), keeping the Adept from getting a telling blow on him. The one that Brendon had shot kicked the sleeping Adept at his feet hard enough to wake him up, pointing at the thief under the table. It nodded its head and stalked forward, staff high.

Meanwhile Abraxas still faced two of them, the lead one (>+2 to hit, Steel 17), striking the Fighter hard (1d6+1 bless Damage: Red/Black 3+1=4, Damage Deflection, Str <Red 3 – Half Damage: 4/2=2 Damage!), but he grunted and twisted, blunting the blow. The second Adept was also trying to make the hits (<+2 to hit, Purple 5) but couldn’t connect enough.

The Slinger pushed his way past his held companion, and reached out to lay its hand on the back of the badly wounded Adept, (CLW: 1d6+1, Red/Black 3 – Heal 4), adding health and vitality to its flagging form. “Stop healing!” Lyra cursed out, hoping to say away from the Goblin crawling around her waist, “That’s NOT fair!” It gibbered and giggled as it tried to hit her again (<+0 to hit, Red/Black 5) but the blade was turned aside by her chainmail.

Lastly, the Adept had finally stalked toward Brendon, trapped under the table, and brought it staff down hoping to kill the Scout (<+1 to hit, Purple 1 – Fumble! 1-2 Lose wpn, 3-4 Damage, 5-6 Stunned: Yellow 1 – Lose weapon), but Brendon was able to grab a fallen chair and swung it, blocking the downward slamming staff and knocking it aside, disarming the Adept. “Ha!”

(WMC: Pink 1 – yes! What d8: Red/Black: 5. Ok... Party in melee notice? 1/12: Red/Black: 5 – no)
