The group needed to go to ground. They had been chewed up and spit out, and needed some time to fix up, raise their companion, and figure out what to do next. So it was another risky move to go try and head back for the Vault.

FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY EIGHT
(I/C)
Giving Lannis’ corpse a combined sad and furious look, Lyra slapped his hat against her thigh to knock some of the blood free and then tucked it under her arm. “It’s still morning and I’m already exhausted,” She complained.
“Tellmeaboutit,” Abraxas was moving to the 2 sleeping goblins.
“Make sure to kill the sleeping ones,” she advised, heading out to the hall, pulling out her towel. “ I’ll go head out in the hall and try to block the smoke from getting under the door.”
"TengoLosGobUlitmos!” His Scythe came up and slashed one of the sleepers across the chest and neck, more blood filling the floor and hall.
Looking around the area, Wyn started dragging Wyn further down the hall towards the sitting room, glancing at the north door currently closed leading to the room on fire. “Monsieur Dwarf en du Lac, cen ye start by checkin de gobs in de main hall, en den throw de bodies inta dis side hallway? I’d like ta get dem all out of de main hall so we cen close dis door en throw off any hallway wanders.”
“On it,” Brendon offered, heading out there, his light coin providing enough illumination for now. “Don’t forget to grab Lannis’ hat or we’ll never hear the end of it.”
From outside the Adept main door, Lyra piped up, “I’ve got it.”
“We cen leave what is left of Smallpox’s corpse... he obviously died from ‘is own stupid bracers.... en he’s messy.”
“RapidoAmigosTakeTodosLosCosasQueThrownYBoltsPorMeCrossbowYPotionsYVamonos.” Abraxas was already finishing off the second sleeping goblin.
“I’ll take a look Big A,” Kovid offered, “I feel bad for poppin’ ya with my hammer. Swear it was an accident!”
The group worked fast, with two people searching bodies and two others policing them, they were making some serious headway on clearing the hall. After a few minutes Lyra joined them (Remove 1 towel [10] and 2 days water) in looking the dead over, slicing pouches and snagging whatever small items they could find. As they worked Kovid was looking better and better with each passing minute as the regeneration potion continued to do its work.
As they were finishing the hall, Wyn suggested, “Let’s move what we cen into de gobs’ room so we cen give ourselves some time to search it. I will lock de hallway door en block smoke from comin’ out. Should give us a few more minutes.”
“Works for us,” Kovid said. The group had been watching the bathroom door but no one had come out of it to the main hall. Once everyone was inside, Wyn shut the door and willed a lock to appear (2nd use of 4). As he was stuffing 2 of his grey sacks at the base and soaking them water to mute the scent of burning from spreading (remove 2 sacks [2] and 2 days water from inventory), he suggested, “Let’s check de gob room... en someone should keep en eye on de bath room door.”
“I’ll take a walk over there,” Lyra said, moving through the sewing room and setting herself up near the corner by the south hall.
“NoQuieroEstarAquiMuchoTiempoMas.QuienTenenSeƱorLynchces?Oh,EsAqui.EnElBagSeƱor.¿VamonosEnUnaSafeRoom,Si?"
“Let’s not stuff Big Brain in there yet,” Kovid suggested. “And this is a pretty defensible area for now, now that Wyn has locked the next door. In fact, there is no way to get into this complex without a key for forcing their way in.
“NotcomfortableSenor. Justgottosay.”
After some time, the party had amassed quite a number of items and pouches from the dead. All the small pockets resulted in (d4: 3+2+3+2=10 x 7 = 70 silver. Double for copper) 70 silver pieces and 140 copper pieces. “There was a time this might have been impressive,” Kovid grumbled. Arrows were pretty much a bust with only 1 of them being salvageable which Brendon added back to his quiver (total arrows 9, Wyn total arrows 13). As for other weaponry that was of use, there were 4 spears that were more than useable and 4 crossbow bolts surprisingly well made and in great shape.
(Lair treasure: copper, silver, gold, gems, magic: 67, 21, 39, 57, 68. Just silver. 1-4k. 4840. # potions d3? Yellow 3: 2).
However in various poorly made boxes, crappy bags, and even some buckets, we came upon the entirety of the goblin hoard which was just under 5,000 silver pieces. “Whoa,” Kovid nodded. “That’s a bit better.” He looked closer. “Hey! 2 healing potions. That we needed.”
(WMC: Red/Black 4- no!)
(Continual Heal – 2nd surge: 1d4+1: Blue2+1=Heal 3 hp Abraxas!)
(10 rounds regeneration: d2 chance: (on d6’s): 1,3,2,1,3,1,3,3,5,5 – Heal (8 @ 1, 2 @ 2) 12 hp Kovid!)
“No one’s come out the bathroom door,” Lyra reported. “We have a serious amount of coin now…AGAIN.” She sighed. “What are we taking? And who is going to drink those healing potions. They do no good in a pouch and too many of you are beat up. Plus I will need 10 minutes to work on the Corpsemaster and I’m not sure if he comes back to life broken and barely alive or fully healed – this spell is a bit outside my skill level.” She looked around. “So what are we doing? Staying…or going?”
