Hobgoblins are smart and militarized - and the group was not feeling their luck on hoping to out think them while they were on their ground and had it prepared. They felt boxed in and were looking for a hole to attack from.

Dragging the gamecase behind him into the hall, Kovid kicked the door closed and said, “Wyn, want to hocus pocus this door locked? If not I could use the shelves here, or what’s left of them.”
“Oui, Dwarfriend,” Wyn said, stepping up to the shut portal.
Looking around the hall, Lyra asked, “Should we be locking every door we walk out of to prevent them from flanking us?”
Interrupting the Cleric, Wyn called back to the Scout, “Du Lac, cen you listen to de door to de nord into Mira’s room en check it fer traps?”
"I thought horses could count?” Lannis said sneeringly, glancing at the Cleric. “This would be his last one.”
“Will do,” Brendon said, stepping up to the portal and muttering in goblin, “Lannis sucks does have a catchy beat to it.”
“I say we move north to the lab,” Kovid said, watching Wyn lay his hand on the door and making a lock appear. “We get out of here where they have us pinned to this corner of the castle.”
Looking around, holding his Scythe higher, Abraxas inquired, "Que es el plan Amigos? Norte? South? Donde? Tu lead, yo miro our backs. No ambushes hoy."
Satisfied it was locked, the elf looked around at the party and asked, hand waving at the door Brendon was listening at, “Do we just bust that one down en keep movin into de goblin rooms? Wyn be good with any option.”
“I don’t think it’s a bad idea,” said Lyra. “But let’s be smart about this. Kicking in doors is going to attract some attention as well as surprise the enemy, but it’ll also make fleeing from where we came harder.”
Shrugging, Lannis suggested, “Crazy idea, we just turn around and charge em right through that door,” he said pointing at the door Wyn locked a moment earlier. “They'll never see it coming.”
“Sigh…Non Monsieur Offop. Just Non.”
“Fine, more rational plan? We go north and kick some Robert nipples in."
“I don’t hear anything in Lannis’ Girlfriends’ chamber,” (No roll needed) Brendon said with a smirk. “And I don’t think the door is trapped, we’ve been through it a bunch and that will just take too long to check. I CAN tell you that it isn’t wedged, I can feel it moving slightly.”
“Hokay den. Nord? An if so? How far are we looking to go in a fell swoop?”
“Tick tock,” Lannis said. “Spells are wasting.”
(Hobgoblins did stuff – we can’t hear or tell.)
Time now is Day 10, 11:14 AM
(OOC)
Invisible Brendon – 41 mins
Det invis Wyn – 31 mins
Shield Lannis – 11 mins
In the hall – door to main hall is locked and has a game rack placed against it and the inside wall, making opening it from the outside a bitch. North to Mirabellis’ room or elsewhere? And if north, let me know what the end goal is to reach and how far.
