PBEM - Episode 225. Stairs...and more stairs.

And finally! The second level! :)

TWO HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE

(I/C)

Looking up the spiral stairs Wyn shook his head. “So ‘ow many more rooms en stairs do we ‘ave till we get to de next floor? Dis be ridiculous. Up we go, oui? Who be first?”

Brendon stepped up, sword out and ready. “I’ll go first and check things out. What could happen? It’s either nothing or something…but it’s better than listening to another Lannis quip.”

Watching the Scout climb, eyes focused ahead of him, the Magic User stood behind Lyra and waited. "What could happen? Lots of things could happen.” He took a deep sigh and let it out slowly, “Have you not been paying attention this whole time? Be careful, wouldn't want anyone, like me, to get hurt."

Kovid near the back was watching Brendon climb, brows furrowed as he whispered, “Are we going or what?”

After making sure Brendon was about 7 steps or so ahead, Abraxas nodded to Wyn, “Now, Senor Impatiapants,” he murmured back to the dwarf, and the two of them followed; the rest of the group right after them.

Meanwhile the Scout shook his head, alert, muttering, “And there’s his annoying quip.”

“Be chill,” Lyra said softly to Lannis, “Yea we do need to hurry, but not to rush. We’re boned if we get caught on these stairs. Not too many places to go.”

Finally at the top of the stairs, Brendon took a look around. We were in the top of a Watchtower, and from what we could see, three large floor to ceiling windows were set on the North, South, and East Wall. The West wall had a door in the northwest corner.

There were 2 chairs here, elven in make but very old and worn, the cushions torn through in places and stained. In the southwest corner of the room were two very large crude and many times stitched together repaired sacks that seemed to hold dried leaves. There were pictures on the wall, paintings and stains showing elven life as seen from a distance, but they were also defaced with what seemed to be goblinoid scrawls and graffiti. Lastly, scratched into the lone door out of the room were three lines of text, the top most in Common and said Blessed Corfard.

Brendon walked the chamber with care (>Find Traps, Red 46) but after a few minutes walked back saying, “Seems ok. Come on up.”

Time now is Day 6, 3:03 PM

(OOC)
