PBEM - Episode 394. Search, Chest, and Rest.

The group had earned some down time and it was time to look for what we could and then find our way back to rest and heal up.

Follows:

THREE HUNDRED NINETY FOUR

(I/C)

Abraxas snatched his Scythe back off the wall and shouldered his way past Lannis, charging back into the room. “Amigos, mueremos Poddles y ayudamos SeƱora Laybor."

“Merde! Time to put eet down,” Wyn spun his sword in the air, caught it reverse handed, and then made to lunge for Piddles’ face. “Sure ‘ope Aine’s blessin’ be comin’ to de priestess soon!” (<Dex, BX Baby feint to face get in front of Piddles and it off Lyra -2, Dex 5) He slashed and jumped, spitting and hissing, forced the cat back a step, and the elf snuck just ahead of it as it stepped off the dying cleric. “Back! Back! You ain’t long fer dis world chat noir.” (<+6 to hit, Orange 8) He chopped and cut, but Piddles batted at the sword and prevented Wyn from making contact.

"When you do it like that you take all the fun out of seeing her get hurt,” Lannis said somberly, drawing his Ishtari Rod and looking down at Lyra’s bleeding crumpled form. He felt a tightness in his chest, and his vision was beginning to swim. “This is getting silly, can we kill this cat? Please!?"

Brendon struck out, teeth gritted, “It’s all or nothin boys!”

Kovid swung his hammer up high, grabbing it with two hands. “You’ll regret that, Whiskers!”And brought it crashing down the panther’s flank (>+6 to hit, Yellow 11), snapping Piddles’ pelvic bone and ripping through part of its spine. (1d8+3 damage, Yellow 6+3=9 Damage and Killed!) It yowled in terrible pain and it fell, tried to get up, but received a second hammer blow that finished it off for good. “And STAY down!”

Brendon glanced over at Mirabellis and said, “Hang on Lyra!”, running to the dead wizardress and fumbling at her waist. He knocked her staff aside, felt at her belt, and managed to pull out a stout leather pouch. He ripped the laces open and reached inside, pulling out two potion vials and a silver key. He held the potions up, one was empty and was marked as “recall”, and the other…

Was a Healing potion.

“Dibs!”

The group looked over at Lannis and frowned. “Sorry. Force of habit.”

Time now is Day 9, 12:10 PM

Monster XP: 6 skeletons @ 65 each divided

Piddles @ 350 xp divided

Brendon add 224 xp

Abraxas and Kovid add 263 xp

Lannis add 274 xp

There was no real search on anyone yet, just a snag of the purse and potion. What do you guys want to do? Lyra’s next heal surge from the Cont Heal will be in 5 minutes for 1d4+1 – then there will be 3 more of them every 10 minutes after that. GREAT job taking out Mirabellis! Corfard is down to just Smallpox and his Junior as Arcane spellcasters – and you’ve taken out his Clerical staff.

Lyra, don’t skip your turn – unless someone really fucks up, you’ll be conscious again worst case scenario in 5 minutes (half  a turn).
